merry christmas eve

Christmas always starts two days early for my family. Christmas Eve Eve is spent with Rachel and Mom doing the kids presents from their favorite aunt and we all get our Christmas Pajamas. This year Mom and Rachel were very good girls and got a visit from Amy Butler Santa and Alexander Henry Santa.

Rachel (or Srachel as Tyler calls her) really spoiled my kids and actually kinda showed Santa up... Autumn was thrilled to have ALL her gifts indivdually wrapped.

Tyler was just thrilled to actually get to open some of his 'esents'. He has been the cutest kid about Christmas this year. Everyday day he wakes up saying "Its almost Christmas", "for presents". We even have a special route we drive at night to get home just so he can see all the "Christmas" (lights). I just can NOT wait to see what he does in the morning.

(and yes Teresa, Tyler is still wearing his monkey shirt-- I can not get it off of him - except to wash it)

"I'm so with you! HATE clutter! I'm not sure how many items you have to display, but I would take a piece of wood, paint it and decorate/modge podge it with cute paper cut-outs, etc. Then I would attach some screw in hooks in a pleasing design on the board. Then you can hang the cards from them. I have 3 girls and this is how we keep their hair things organized :). Awesome giveaway! My 5 year old JUST told me she wants a Zhu Zhu pet.. which AIN'T gonna happen this close to Christmas! If I win, I'll say it's from you :). LOVE your stuff! "

Great Idea Jerliee. Your Zhu-Zhu pet just went our overnight delivery (hope it makes it for tomorrow- I will email you the tracking number separately.

After getting Jerliee's great idea I went looking on etsy for old, primitive type wood to incorporate into the Knitting Mill theme. I just love what I found at Barnwood 4 U. Jim was great to work with and even made a few custom pieces to display my fabric.

what is zhu'in on ? Free Zhu-Zhu Pet Giveaway (plus overnight shipping)

It happens every year. The day after Thanksgiving the HOT toy is found ! The next week is spent with frantic retailer calls, early 7am calls to Toys R' Us, late night eBay searches, etc..... I am lucky- typically I can put in a few calls to my peers and locate out of stock items.

This year for Tyler is was the Zhu Zhu pets. He wasn't really into them but saw them on TV and started saying "Where's my ZhuZhu pet" that is all it took and the search was on. With no luck I decided to hit eBay and they were $30. NO WAY.  I was just starting to get him off of wanting the Zhu Zhu Pet when I made a late night trip to Target while they were stocking the shelves with what else, ZHU ZHU Pets !! I got three of them. I went ahead and gave him his- which he loves !

However after a few days of play- and giving one to Autumn I think we have enough. Instead of taking it back I thought I would have a little SewCute Shop Giveaway for the kids--- I will be giving away ONE Zhu Zhu pet tomorrow morning (12.23.2009) at 11am EST, I will also be including FREE OVERNIGHT SHIPPING so your child can have this for Christmas (as long as the USPS will be able to deliver)

Most of you know SewCute Shop has a location at Knitting Mill Antiques. One of my biggest pet peeves is clutter. I am very un-happy with the way I 'display' the bobby pins and pony tail holders. I am placing two of them in a small plastic bag  and sticking them in sewing drawer box. This box sits on the dresser at the front of the booth. I am working with a designer who will be making me product cards to place the bobby pins on and loop the pony tail holders through. (something like this) but with my logo.

HOW WOULD YOU DISPLAY THEM ?????

LOVE for UPS.

Could you imagine being a UPS or other package delivery person this time of year. I had to drop off a few packages at the USPS today and just felt terrible for the workers, between now and Dec 24 they will handle more than 2 MILLION packages.

Thanks to Amy Butler I have contributed to the 2 MILLION every day this week. First it was the Lotus Fabric, then Heather Bailey and yesterday the LOVE came. I finally put my bolt shelves to good use last night- I have over 13 bolts of fabric. I seriously wanted to just wrap myself in the Amy Butler Sandlewood in Tangerine - or I could make some sheets, but for sure pillowcases.

I love my digital camera. Love It. The only thing I do not like about digital cameras vs. 35mm cameras is I never seem to actually print my photos, even my good ones.This past week my sister came over to get some pictures from my card and reminded me I had over 2,000 photos on my card. snow towels

The weather guys in Chattanooga always predict snow and it never happens. I mean never. However everyone always runs to the store to buy the norm : bread, milk and peanut butter ?? I had been hearing on the news all week "60% chance SNOW on Saturday" and ignored it.

Imagine my suprise when Tyler woke me up at 6:45AM to show me this:

I was VERY unprepared for this snow. For the first hour Tyler had to use socks on his hands because I could not find the gloves. Luckily, Ty had bought him a heavy coat the week before and I had my Pap-Paw's old USPS mail toboggen put up- Tyler didn't mind wearing this one bit. So Cute !

This past week I received an email from my great Amy Butler rep- Diane. She was letting me know they were expanding the Amy Butler Home line to vendors and wanted to know if I would be interesed in carrying the ALL-NEW Amy Butler Welspun Organic Exhange towel collection.

After getting a few for me and Teresa I quickly replied... YES !!!!!!!!!!! I can not wait to get my first order in on Friday. They will be in SewCute @ Knitting Mill this weekend- ON SALE !!!
